About Dr. Moore
Dr. Karen A. Moore graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1982. She was honored to be recognized as a Phi Zeta, the Veterinary Honor Society, recognizing the top twenty percent of their class. After graduation, she was fortunate to extend her professional learning with a Small Animal Internship at the University of Illinois. This also allowed for more training and experience in not only canines and felines, but Exotic Animal Medicine as well.
Following that, Dr.Moore returned to California, working in Antioch, Arroyo Grande, and Camarillo. While offered Residency at UC Davis in Lab Animal Medicine, Dr. Moore already felt a part of the Ventura community and decided to remain, investing in her own practice. Between positions at UC Santa Barbara and the Santa Barbara Zoo, Dr. Moore started a House Call Practice that serviced Camarillo to Ojai. Eventually, the need to offer surgeries and hospitalizations of patients led to converting a small house into the fully functional Moore Veterinary Care clinic on Main St. in Ventura.
It has certainly been a joy to see the practice grow through the years and be able to help and serve so many patients. Dr. Moore has been blessed with three wonderful daughters. Her life has been enriched by many beloved pets as well. In her spare time she enjoys gardening (especially native plants), reading and experiencing nature.
